Saint-Eutrope Church-Les Salles-Lavauguyon
Frescoes in Salles Lavauguyon
Built at the end of the 11th century, listed as an ‘Historic Monument’ in 1907, Saint Eutrope church is an exceptional example of Romanesque Limousin architecture. The main point of interest is its superb frescoes (restored in 1987).
They are one of the most important sets of 12th century frescoes in France.

Felt factory " Feutres Depland "
Another flagship of Saint-Junien’s industry is the manufacture of paper and cardboard, which, at the end of the 19th century, created another industry – the manufacture of woollen felts for use in the paper-making machines.
Created in 1890, the Depland factory was one of the first in France to acquire the equipment necessary to carry out the needle-punch technique. Since 2012, the company has developed new non-woven products, synthetic and woollen, which are used mainly for decoration, protection, packaging and for use in the medical sector.
Créée en 1890, l’usine Depland est l’une des premières en France à acquérir le matériel nécessaire à la mise en œuvre de la technique de l’aiguilletage. Depuis 2012, la société développe de nouveaux produits non tissés, en synthétique et laine qui servent notamment à la décoration, la protection l’emballage l’isolation et dans le secteur médical.

The capital of the luxury leather glove industry in France, glove-making has been the symbolic activity of Saint-Junien since the 11th century.
The glove factories here all supply gloves for the major haute couture companies : Dior, Hermès, Yves Saint-Laurent, Mugler, Galiano, Chanel, Balmain, Nini Ricci, etc. Join us to discover the making of a pair of gloves from receiving the treated skin to the finishing touches.

Historic Rochechouart and the exterior of the castle
The Romanesque church Saint-Sauveur was built by order of the monks at Charroux abbey and was consecrated in either 1061 or 1067.
At the end of the 15th century, an elegant octagonal tower was constructed. It is crowned with a twisted spire with eight sections and there are only approximately 60 spires like this in Europe.
On the guided tour of the town centre you will discover the rich history of its past through the architectural traces of the Middle Ages.
Discover the exterieur of the castle and stroll around the garden. Learn more of its history and the Rochechouart family, one of the oldest noble families in France.

Guided tour of the centre of Saint-Junien
The town of Saint-Junien arose from the modest hermitage set up at the end of the 5th century by Amand and his disciple Junien. This tour will take you through the development of the town around the collegiate church, as well as its working class history.

The New town of Oradour-sur-Glane
Symbol of rebirth, the construction of the new town of Oradour was begun immediately after the end of the Second World War.
During the guided tour we will wander through the streets of the new town and understand how Oradour was able to rise from its ashes.

Collegiate church - Saint-Junien
The collegiate church at Saint-Junien is one of the biggest and oldest Romanesque churches in the Limousin. It was the centre of a vast religious estate which no longer exists.
It was built in four stages, from the 11th – 13th centuries ; the original plan has always been respected, however, it bears the marks of the periods of construction from the Romanesque era through to the early Gothic era.
